Echo Proud continued with the hottest streak in the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Philippines Season 1, taking their eighth consecutive victory with a 2-1 conquest of RSG Ignite on Tuesday.
They improved to 10-2 with 29pts while handing RSG Ignite (19pts) their sixth loss. RSG’s last match against Smart Omega Neos on Thursday is now a must-win for the team in order to secure their place in the post-season.
Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar played phenomenally with the Karrie pick in the close-out win, finishing with a near-perfect 12-1-9 KDA.
Blacklist Academy also solidified their playoff bid after surviving Smart Omega Neos, courtesy of Kyle “Dominic” Soto’s Game 3 exploits.
Dominic delivered a clutch Final Slash set-up play in the 19th minute that sparked a 2-0 pick-off and completed the win for the Tier One-backed squad. He took the match MVP honors courtesy of an immaculate 6-0-7 KDA.
Meanwhile, Nexplay Evos Tiger Cubs kept their playoff hopes alive with a tough 2-1 victory over Bren Euphoria Esports.
Lance “LanceCy” Cunanan’s 6-2-9 KDA in the rubber match led the way for NXPE’s dominant Game 3 performance where they finished with a massive 19-7 lead on the kill tally.
The Tiger Cubs remain in the hunt for a playoff spot after they improved to 16pts, just one game behind Blacklist. Both teams still have one more game left and a win by Blacklist will seal their playoff spot, regardless of NXPE’s result.
